The truth is you can never be entirely sure if an item is going to exceed the reserve price. You can take an educated guess, but on a rare occasion there might be a lot mis-match, where your guests are unlikely to bid.

Regardless if the lot, I always think that there’s a way to get the bids rolling in, as an auctioneer I just need to find it.
